Martin Short Daniel Knighton/Getty Images Martin Short’s life and decades-long career in comedy is the focus of the upcoming Netflix documentary Marty, Life Is Short, which debuted its first trailer on Friday.
The documentary features interviews with friends and collaborators like Steve Martin, Eugene Levy, the late Catherine O’Hara, Tom Hanks, and even Short’s alter ego Jiminy Glick, who weighs in on the film in the trailer, “Well, they’re making a documentary on everyone.”
“In this business, in the world of comedy, there’s nobody faster, there’s nobody smarter, and there’s nobody funnier,” Levy says in the Lawrence Kasdan-directed documentary.
“I’ll tell you something about Marty,” Martin says of his longtime collaborator and Only Murders in the Building co-star. “Let’s say you’re gonna host a dinner party. And you’re gonna invite Marty. And then it turns out Marty can’t come — you cancel the party.”
