Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kans.) is projected to win the GOP primary to face off against Democrat pastor Adam Hamilton in the Sunflower State this November, according to Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ).

Marshall is seeking a second term in the Senate and is projected to defeat Arch Naramore in Tuesday’s contest, per DDHQ. The non-partisan Cook Political Report has deemed the race “solid” for Republicans months ahead of the general election.

DDHQ shows that as of July, Marshall has spent just over $1 million on the campaign and raised about $6.1 million for his reelection bid. He has received a “full” and “total” endorsement from President Trump

Hamilton, who is projected to emerge victorious from a crowded Democratic primary field, has raised $3.6 million since April to oust the incumbent lawmaker. He’s a senior pastor of the largest United Methodist congregation in the United States.

Hamilton is looking to break the longest losing streak for Democrats in Kansas by winning the Senate race in November. Kansas last elected a Democrat to serve in the Senate in 1932, according to NPR.

Ahead of the midterm race, Marshall has raised doubts about election security, echoing the president’s calls to pass the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act to require proof of citizenship to vote.

“I’m trying to find a path to show America that Democrats don’t even believe in voter ID, let alone proof of citizenship. And this is so important to our faith in our democracy,” Marshall said during an appearance on Fox Business in July.

“This voting election integrity is so important to our faith in our own government,” he added.
