Manchester City vs. Liverpool best bets
- Manchester City money line (-129, 1 unit)
- Both teams to score and Over 2.5 Goals (-140, 0.5 units)
Manchester City and Liverpool will battle for a place in the FA Cup semifinals when they clash at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
It promises to be an entertaining game between two strong teams, but it's easy to see why Man City are the favorites. They've already beaten Liverpool twice this season -- 3-0 at the Etihad in November, and 2-1 at Anfield in February.
Man City's players will also be full of confidence after beating Arsenal 2-0 in the EFL Cup final last week. They have home advantage for this game and should be capable of exploiting Liverpool's defensive weaknesses.

Man City dominate head-to-heads
Man City reignited their Premier League challenge by battling to a 2-1 away win against Liverpool on Feb. 8. They were 1-0 down with just six minutes left on the clock, but Bernardo Silva fired in a late equalizer. Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson then gave away a penalty deep into stoppage time, and Erling Haaland coolly dispatched it. That result galvanized Man City's players, and they beat Fulham, Newcastle and Leeds in their next three league games. It was an impressive winning streak, which left them just two points behind title rivals Arsenal.
However, things went south for Man City in March. They crashed out of the Champions League after losing 5-1 to Real Madrid in a two-legged clash. City also drew with Nottingham Forest and West Ham in the league, so they now trail Arsenal by nine points -- albeit with a game in hand. Their season was in jeopardy, but they produced a superb performance to beat Arsenal 2-0 in the EFL Cup final on March 22. Nico O'Reilly scored both goals in that game, earning his team a deserved win. We've since had a two-week international break, which may have derailed their momentum, so Guardiola will need to rally his troops this weekend.
Man City are now unlikely to win the league. Most sportsbooks make them +700 underdogs while Arsenal are the -1600 favorites. City are out of the Champions League, so the FA Cup now represents their best chance of securing more silverware this season. As such, Guardiola should send out his best starting XI for this game. They have issues in defense -- John Stones and Joško Gvardiol are injured, and Rúben Dias is doubtful -- but they should have enough firepower to win this game.

Liverpool's defense is struggling
Liverpool won the Premier League title last season but the Reds have failed to recapture that magic during the current campaign. They lost 2-1 to Brighton in their last game, and that result left them fifth in the league table -- 12 points behind Man City and 21 behind Arsenal.
They have no chance of winning the league, so the FA Cup is also Liverpool's best chance of winning a trophy this season. Manager Arne Slot is also expected to field a strong team for this game but it will be hard for Liverpool to keep City forwards like Haaland and Antoine Semenyo at bay.
The Reds have conceded 42 goals in 31 league games this season, as center backs Virgil Van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté have struggled for form. Their fullbacks are also unconvincing, so it's hard to see them keeping a clean sheet on Saturday.
Liverpool still look strong in attack with Hugo Ekitike, Dominik Szoboszlai and Florian Wirtz leading the charge, and they should also score against this depleted Man City defense. However, home advantage could ultimately prove decisive and Man City should win this game.
