Craig Zirpolo* Lucy Dacus is reissuing her debut album No Burden to celebrate its 10th anniversary. She’s kicking the festivities off with a bang: today, she is sharing the previously unreleased track “No Thank You, I Love You, Goodbye.”
No Burden‘s 10th anniversary reissue arrives on Dec. 4. The album will be pressed on a special seaglass vinyl and preorders are ongoing. No Burden includes songs “I Don’t Wanna Be Funny Anymore” and “Strange Torpedo,” among others.
“No Thank You, I Love You, Goodbye” was recorded with Adrian Olsen and Dacus’ guitarist Alan Good Parker. The song has become a favorite hidden gem among Dacus’ fans; the singer-songwriter has performed it a handful of times over the years. The song features Good Parker’s fuzzed-out guitar as Dacus sings the heart-wrenching lyrics: “I swore to myself/I would not follow your lead/So why did I get in the car every evening?”
