Dacus onstage at Norway’s Bergenfest in June 2025 Per Ole Hagen/Redferns/Getty Images Lucy Dacus is just trying to live in the moment. The singer-songwriter has released her first new music in 2026 with new single “Planting Tomatoes,” just a couple of days after Earth Day.
On the soft rock track, Dacus muses about slowing down to appreciate life as you’re living it. “You’ve gotta live the life you’re fighting for/ ou’ve gotta live a life you would die for,” she sings over fuzzy drums. Along with the song, the musician also shared a lyric video she shot herself in Tokyo, Japan. The visual, which was edited by Mikayla LoBasso, was filmed inside of a stationery store, featuring the song’s lyrics written with different pens on paper scattered throughout the store.
