As time continues to pass, the Lord of the Rings film franchise is set to gather fans in honor of its 25th anniversary.

Elijah Wood is the first announced guest for the forthcoming CCXP26 fan event that takes place later this year in São Paulo, Brazil. With the theme of “Fellowship Forever,” this year’s CCXP is held Dec. 3-6, and Wood is set to participate in a panel on both Dec. 3 and 4, along with photo and autograph sessions on each date.

Wood was 20 when he hit the screen as Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, which was released in theaters Dec. 19, 2001, and also starred Ian McKellen, Liv Tyler, Viggo Mortensen, Sean Astin, Cate Blanchett and Orlando Bloom. Based on the writing of J.R.R. Tolkien, the movie was the first in director Peter Jackson‘s trilogy that collectively surpassed $2.9 billion at the global box office and amassed 17 Oscars.

“CCXP has a tradition of celebrating major milestones in pop culture alongside the people who experienced them from the inside,” CCXP vp of content Roberto Fabri said in a statement. “In 2025, it was Road to Hell and the 20th anniversary of Supernatural. Now, in 2026, it’s The Lord of the Rings turning 25, and there’s no better way to kick off this celebration than with Frodo himself. Elijah Wood at CCXP26 is exactly the kind of announcement we make knowing festival fans have been eager to hear it.”

Wood is also known for such features as Sin City, Happy Feet and Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, along with series like Wilfred and Yellowjackets.

Last year’s CCXP included a viral moment when Timothée Chalamet showed off his dance moves to “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” while promoting his film Marty Supreme.

Other notable presentations in 2025 included the Supernatural reunion, conversations with such stars as Kathryn Newton, Selton Mello and The Lord of the Rings standout Dominic Monaghan, and panels for projects like It: Welcome to Derry, The Boys, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Anaconda, The Secret Agent and Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
