Washington voters are heading to the polls to cast their ballots and choose candidates to face off in November’s House elections.

The Evergreen State has a top-two primary system, where all candidates run in a single primary and the top two vote-getters advance to the November election

Vulnerable Democratic incumbent Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez is attempting to fend off challenges from Brent Hennrich, who believes the incumbent is not sufficiently progressive enough for her district, and State Senate minority leader John Braun, a Republican.

There is one open seat in the Evergreen State, with Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-Wash.) retiring. There are eleven candidates running to replace Newhouse, including Republicans State Sen. Matt Boehnke, Yakima County commissioner Amanda McKinney, Toppenish Mayor Elpidia Saavedra and the lone Democrat in the race, Air Force veteran John Duresky.
