Vermont voters head to the polls on Tuesday to select the Democratic and Republican candidates for the Green Mountain State’s at-large congressional seat.
Two-term Rep. Becca Balint (D-V.T.) is seeking her third term in the lower chamber and she is running unopposed for the Democratic nomination.
Both candidates for the GOP nod are former statewide candidates in the Green Mountain State. Army veteran and former defense contractor Gerald Malloy ran against then-Rep. Pete Welch in the lawmaker’s successful Senate bid in 2022. Malloy also unsuccessfully challenged Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-V.T.) in 2024.
Mark Coester, a small businessman who has owned a logging business, ran against Balint in 2024 and is seeking a rematch against the congresswoman.
Polls close at 7 p.m. EDT.
