Rep. Steny Hoyer’s (D-Md.) retirement has opened the seat representing the 5th Congressional District for the first time since 1981. Expected to stay in Democratic hands this fall, state delegate Adrian Boafo and former Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker lead the crowded Tuesday primary to represent the suburban distirct.
All seven other districts are also holding primaries Tuesday.
