J. Scott Applewhite, Associated Press file The Capitol is seen framed through a window in the Cannon House Office Building on Capitol Hill in Washington on Feb. 13, 2025. New Yorkers are at the polls Tuesday to vote in a series of House elections.
There are handful of open seats up for grabs this cycle, including the 7th, 12th and 21st Congressional Districts. Democratic Reps. Nydia Velázquez and Jerry Nadler as well as Republican Reps. Elise Stefanik’s (R) exits from Capitol Hill set up a suite of heated primary contests.
Democratic Rep. Dan Goldman, meanwhile, is fighting for his political life in the 10th Congressional District against progressive primary challenger Brad Lander, a former New York City comptroller and mayoral candidate backed by New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D) also faces a formidable challenger from his left in Darializa Avila Chevalier, who is endorsed by Mamdani.
Rep. Mike Lawler (R) will also learn his opponent Tuesday in the race that Democrats view as a prime pick-up opportunity this cycle.
Polls close at 9 p.m. EDT. Follow Decision Desk HQ’s live results below.
