Little House on the Prairie ERIC ZACHANOWICH/NETFLIX Netflix has shared the first trailer for the streaming service’s upcoming Little House on the Prairie reboot.
The series — based on author Laura Ingalls Wilder’s famed book series, which in turn was adapted into a popular TV series from 1974 to 1983 — revolves around the Ingalls family and their family farm in rural Minnesota at the end of the 1800s.
Laura, inspired by the author herself and played by Alice Halsey, serves as the main character and narrator. “Once upon a time, Ma and Pa and Mary and Laura left the Big Woods of Wisconsin and moved to the prairie, where a new life was waiting for them,” she narrates in the trailer.
“Every day and every night was an adventure. And even though they were all alone, and very small against the sky and the stars, they were happy. Because they were a family, and they were together.”
