Getty Images Lil Nas X is one step closer to having his felony assault charges dismissed after a judge granted him entry into a mental health diversion program.
The rapper, whose real name is Montero Hill, appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom on Monday, when Judge Alan Schneider determined that his charges would be cleared so long as he complies with a treatment plan and obeys all laws for the next two years. According to Rolling Stone, the judge found that his behavior stemming from an arrest last August was “aberrant from his normal conduct” and that it was related to his bipolar diagnosis. The judge noted that he “appears to be doing very well” and that “when treated, he is much better off, and society is much better off.”
