Twelve years after publishing her debut book, Lena Dunham is back with a new release, Famesick: A Memoir. The 416-page hardcover is now available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble’s shelves for just under $30, and has already climbed to a #1 bestseller spot on Amazon’s charts.

In Famesick: A Memoir, Dunham opens up about her experiences with chronic illness, complicated relationships with co-stars, and her return to the public eye after stepping back from the industry in 2017. The memoir offers an unfiltered look at some of her most vulnerable moments.

The official description reads: “In this rowdy, frank reflection on illness, fame, sex, and everything in between, the remarkable mind behind the hit series Girls and the bestselling author of Not That Kind of Girl asks whether fulfilling her creative ambitions has been worth the pain.”

Early reception has been overwhelmingly positive, with readers on both Amazon and Barnes & Noble awarding the book high ratings and praising its “stellar introduction” and “deeply personal and emotional storytelling.”

Dunham first rose to prominence in 2012 as the creator, writer, and star of Girls, which ran for six seasons before ending in 2017. Over the years, she has remained a polarizing figure, frequently at the center of public controversies and online backlash — read more about that here.

The memoir also revisits her relationship with musician Jack Antonoff, whom she dated from 2012 to 2017. Dunham reveals new details about their breakup, including her own infidelity. Antonoff is now married to actress Margaret Qualley.

The release of Famesick: A Memoir comes just months ahead of Dunham’s upcoming Netflix series Too Much, set to premiere in July, while she is also developing another project, Good Sex, starring Natalie Portman and musician Role Model. Famesick: A Memoir is available now in hardcover, paperback, and digital formats.
