Paris- and Berlin-based Salaud Morisset has boarded world sales on “Yesterday the Eye Didn’t Sleep,” the debut feature from Palestinian filmmaker Rakan Mayasi, ahead of its premiere in Un Certain Regard at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Set in a Bedouin village in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, “Yesterday the Eye Didn’t Sleep” unfolds as a community searches for Gamra, a young woman accused of setting fire to the car of the man she loved after he chose to marry another.
