Getty Images Léa Seydoux is getting an American Cinematheque retrospective celebrating her extensive filmography.
Over the course of two decades, Seydoux has built an acclaimed career in independent filmmaking (the Cannes Palme d’Or winner “Blue is the Warmest Color”) and major productions (Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune” movies and two James Bond films).
Seydoux’s American Cinematheque retrospective runs Thurs. Nov. 12-15 in Los Angeles, and features four of her films: Mia Hansen-Løve’s “One Fine Morning,” Abdellatif Kechiche’s “Blue is the Warmest Color,” Bertrand Bonello’s “The Beast” and Marie Kreutzer’s “Gentle Monster.” The French film star will appear for an in-person conversation about Netflix’s “Gentle Monster” with Kreutzer. In the harrowing film, Seydoux stars as a wife and mother reeling from the revelation her partner is involved in a ring producing child sex abuse materials. The story follows as Seydoux’s Lucy, a renowned pianist, confronts the complexities of love, trust and deception.
