Landman begins production on season three. Paramount The last time we saw Thornton’s oil fixer Tommy Norris, the future was looking brighter compared to season one’s ending. Tommy once again was visited by the (metaphorical) coyote as he, his family and close-knit crew embark on the launch of their own oil company, CTT Oil Exploration and Cattle, after Tommy made a dangerous deal with cartel boss Gallino (Garcia).
Thornton has been open about his long-term vision for Landman. The West Texas-set oil drama broke viewership records to become a surefire hit for the streamer. Despite series hit-maker Sheridan striking a deal to move his prolific TV output over to NBCUniversal starting in 2028, Thornton has said the vision for many seasons of Landman remains steady.
Co-created by Sheridan and Wallace, and set in the boomtowns of West Texas, Landman is a modern tale of fortune seeking amongst roughnecks and wildcat billionaires — fueling an oil boom so big it’s reshaping the climate, the economy and geopolitics.
Landman is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions. Sheridan, David C. Glasser, David Hutkin, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Wallace, Thornton, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman and Stephen Kay, along with Dan Friedkin and Jason Hoch for Imperative Entertainment, and J.K. Nickell and Megan Creydt for Texas Monthly, are executive producers.
