Superhero blockbuster “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has delivered a huge opening at the South Korean box office during the weekend of Jul. 31–Aug. 2.

According to data from KOBIS, the tracking service operated by the Korean Film Council, the web-slinging sequel generated a colossal $16.9 million from 2,252,930 admissions over the three-day frame across 2,409 screens, capturing an overwhelming 80.63% share of total weekend revenue. Since launching wide on July 29, the tentpole has pulled in a cumulative gross of $25 million from 3,384,147 total admissions. Of this, Imax accounted for $2.4 million, making it the highest grossing Imax opening weekend of all time in the territory.
