Courtesy of Wowpoint, Cannes Film Festival Local action-horror feature “Colony” maintained its firm grip on the South Korean box office during the weekend of May 29–31.
According to data from KOBIS, the tracking service operated by the Korean Film Council, the film earned $6.7 million from 971,011 admissions over its second frame, securing a 56.67% share of the weekend market. Directed by Yeon Sang-ho, the film follows a highly adaptive hive-mind infection inside a mall. The film has brought its cumulative haul to $24.7 million from 3,474,904 total admissions since its May 21 release.
