The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, directed Ryan Duffy and released last month, chronicles Odom’s 2015 scare when he was found unresponsive at the Love Ranch brothel located outside Las Vegas. The doc features (separate) interviews with Kardashian and Odom. In her interviews, Kardashian recalls her experience which included taking care of him after his overdose and even calling off their divorce proceedings amid his recovery. After the doc’s release, Odom has spoken against Kardashian, disputing several of the claims she made in his doc. But now Kardashian is sharing her side of things.

In a recent episode of her podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land, Kardashian expressed her frustration with Odom and for spending “hours doing this documentary as a favor” only to lead him to speak negatively of her.
“Do people think I just like talking about this all day? Fuck no, it’s traumatic. I have to relive things. I have to talk about things that weren’t fun in my life. So, it’s like, no, I don’t just feel like doing this,” she said on her podcast.
Kardashian recalled being asked by Odom’s team to do the documentary to which she was initially hesitant and contemplated agreeing to do it for months: “I wanted to make sure it was handled in the best way. I said I want to make sure this is a positive piece. I don’t really want to go down this road if it’s negative shit. He’s been through enough negative. Let’s like turn the tune here.”
After being encouraged by Netflix that it would be and it was emphasized that Odom was asking for her to be a part of this and she’s a “big chapter,” Kardashian agreed.
“I willingly do the Netflix thing for Lamar. I’m not getting paid one penny to do this,” she said. “I have no dog in this fight. It doesn’t matter to me if this documentary is made or not made. I don’t care. And it’s not something I really want to talk about anymore.”
Hoping to get on “the same page” with what he wanted her to share, Kardashian said attempts to contact Odom were not answered. “He took weeks to respond,” Kardashian said.
While sitting down for the documentary, Kardashian noted that she was not just talking freely herself but instead had a producer asking her questions. “I am just doing exactly what the producer is asking of me. I didn’t see the documentary in whole until it came out.”
During his press tour for the doc, Odom has made claims, which Kardashian said insinuates that she’s “a liar” and that he has been “discrediting” her by saying she “wasn’t the one that helped him.” In his Today show interview, Odom attributed his life being saved by God rather than Kardashian and disputed her claim that his father wanted to take him off life support.
“I think what’s pissing me off is, we did this, all good. I was done with this. I’m like, I’m never going to do another Lamar thing again, ’cause I’m all good. But now Lamar is doing press [and saying he’s] annoyed with me,” she said.
“For years he was singing my praises. I don’t even need you to sing my praises. But you’re not now going to shit on me or now play in my face because you don’t like the reaction and the response from the public.” She also questioned why he’d respond negatively if he had the opportunity to release a doc that he was okay with and could’ve removed anything she said, which she noted to them after filming.
In the years since Odom’s overdose happened, Kardashian has stayed mum, reiterating that it wasn’t her story to tell. “I would never expose someone that was not for me to expose. I kept all of that to myself for 11 years or whenever that was. I was asked by Lamar to do this documentary. I did it for him. His team, whoever provided those questions to the producer had to be someone that knew these things. That’s how they knew to ask me those questions. They don’t just happen.”
“I feel played,” she added.
Kardashian also laughed off Odom’s claims that he hasn’t seen the documentary in full yet. “This person loves to watch himself. You’re telling me that you have a documentary for yourself and you’re trying to say publicly that you never saw it? Boy, please. Let’s not. I just think he wasn’t expecting this response and now he’s trying to sort of slander me a little bit.”
In the doc, Odom also said he married Kardashian for fame. “Behind the scenes, you, your friends, you guys are all saying how you were with me just for fame? That’s like some fucked up shit. I feel so dumb. I spent hours and time doing this documentary as a favor… Listen, I let go of the sex doll he got made of me two years ago, which I thought was like the most sociopathic thing. How violating. How gross. What is wrong with you? He tries to do things for attention.”
Kardashian also says she’s ”pissed that I’m even involved.”
Kardashian has received messages asking why the tune has changed so much since the doc release, but she said she thinks it’s because of the response which is more negative to Odom but positive to her which pushed him to “attack her because she’s getting so much love.” She also said what she said in the doc was only “10 percent” of her experience and things she could talk about.
