Karen Laureano-Rikardsen Courtesy of Sphere Sphere has lassoed a new global head of corporate marketing and communications in Karen Laureano-Rikardsen.
The move, announced today by Sphere Entertainment Co., will see the veteran executive serve as lead spokesperson for the cutting-edge entertainment venue while leading the “development and execution of global marketing communications strategy to support the company’s growth, reputation and domestic and international expansion,” per the company. She’s based in New York reporting to Sphere president and COO Jennifer Koester.

“As we continue to expand Sphere’s presence and bring our next-generation immersive entertainment experiences to audiences around the world, it is critical that we continue to tell our story in compelling and impactful ways,” said Koester. “Karen brings a strong combination of global communications experience, sound judgement and proven leadership in high-profile environments. She will play a vital role in shaping how we communicate our vision and innovation.”

Laureano-Rikardsen’s resumé features nine years at financial services company Cantor Fitzgerald where she served as chief communications and marketing officer for the parent company and publicly traded affiliates BGC Group and Newmark Group. The University of Maryland graduate also held senior executive communications and marketing positions at financial and public relations firms like Credit Suisse, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and Hill & Knowlton.
Sphere’s calendar currently features the Backstreet Boys and The Wizard of Oz with upcoming shows from Carín León, the Eagles and Metallica.
