Later, Adams warns her, “Consider this a trial period. You’re still under warranty, and I won’t hesitate for a second to send you back.”
Waititi, whose most recent directorial effort was 2023’s Next Goal Wins, produces Klara and the Sun alongside David Heyman, Jeffrey Clifford, Rosie Alison and Garrett Basch.
The film’s first footage debuted at CinemaCon in April. “This is a hopeful story about friendship and connection at a time when technology makes us feel so alone,” TriStar Pictures president Nicole Brown told the crowd.
Ortega’s forthcoming features include The Gallerist and J.J. Abrams’ The Great Beyond. The actress will also return for the third season of Wednesday.
Adams was recently seen in Nightbitch and Disenchanted. Her forthcoming features include At the Sea and Star Wars: Starfighter. She stars in the latter opposite Ryan Gosling, Matt Smith, Mia Goth and Aaron Pierre.
