Courtesy Everett Collection “Jem and the Holograms” are going on a reunion tour.
A live-action revival of the hit 1980s cartoon is in development at Amazon MGM Studios with Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan’s Kilter Films banner (“Westworld,” “Fallout”) producing. The project, which is described as an “elevated live-action technothriller series,” also hails from Hasbro Entertainment.
Created by Christy Marx, “Jem and the Holograms” first debuted in 1985 and centered on Jerrica Benton, a record company owner who moonlights as the singer of a rock band, Jem and the Holograms. The show was filled with music videos and original songs, including the popular theme, “Truly Outrageous.” The voice cast included Samantha Newark, Britta Phillips, Patricia Alice Albrecht, Kath Soucie, Marlene Aragon and more.
