Israeli air strikes on a village in southern Lebanon have killed at least 11 people, including two children, Lebanese state media say.

Nine people were killed in one strike that destroyed a three-storey residential building in Kfar Rumman shortly after midnight, while two paramedics were killed in a second strike on a car, according to the National News Agency.

The Israeli military said it was looking into the reports.

On Sunday, Israeli strikes killed seven people in southern Lebanon, as the Israeli military retaliated for what it said were drone attacks by the armed group Hezbollah on its troops in occupied areas of the country.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun warned that the attacks were a "dangerous escalation" that jeopardised the US-brokered ceasefire agreed in June, which was meant to end the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
