Iran on Sunday launched retaliatory strikes on Kuwait and Bahrain as it threatens to enforce a “complete halt” to all negotiations that would end the conflict with the U.S.

Kuwait’s military said it detected and intercepted Iranian drones and two ballistic missiles. Strikes in Bahrain destroyed the top floor of an 8-story building near the airport, according to the country’s Interior Ministry. No deaths were reported.

Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry called the attack “a dangerous escalation that reveals that what Tehran is doing is not a passing act, nor an isolated incident, but rather a deliberate approach and a systemic pattern of repeated aggression.”

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for the Gulf state attacks and accused the U.S. of violating the ceasefire agreed to in the recently signed memorandum of understanding (MOU) between both countries. The IRGC stated that any more U.S. strikes “will result in the complete halt of all diplomatic processes.”

President Trump also accused Iran of violating the ceasefire agreement in the MOU in his latest threat against the Islamic regime.

“United States aircraft just struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations, and coastal radar sites, for violating the Cease Fire Agreement, AGAIN!” he wrote Saturday on Truth Social. “It is very possible that they will never learn! There may come a point when we are no longer able to be reasonable, and will be forced to militarily complete the job that we very successfully started. If that happens, the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer exist!”

U.S. Central Command (Centcom) said on Saturday that it carried out more strikes on Iranian targets following an attack on a Panama-flagged tanker near the Strait of Hormuz. Iran claims authority over the strait. Iran also struck a Singapore-flagged cargo ship near the coast of Oman on Thursday, an attack President Trump called a “foolish violation” of the ceasefire.

The attacks are the latest flare-up threatening a fragile ceasefire put in place after earlier this month.

The U.S. and Iran electronically signed the 14-point MOU to extend the pause on all hostilities for 60 days in order to negotiate an end to the conflict and determine the future of Iran’s nuclear program, as well as restore unrestricted navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran has maintained that it holds authority over the strait. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reiterated this while in Baghdad, Iraq, on Sunday.

“Any interference in this matter, any attempt to establish new or separate arrangements from those currently being carried out by the Islamic Republic of Iran, will only lead to further complications, delay the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and increase the level of tension, just as over the past two nights we witnessed incidents in the Strait of Hormuz that led to an increase in tension and confrontation,” he said.

The strait is technically open, but conflicting narratives about who retains control of the crucial waterway have made conditions difficult. Iran previously claimed that the strait was again closed due to Israel’s ongoing strikes in Lebanon, a threat to those countries’ own ceasefire agreement.
