IFC Independent Film Company and Shudder have acquired Alex Goyette’s debut feature “Breeder.”
The film is about an eccentric poodle breeder who lures a broke college student to her remote ranch with a promise of research funding. As he soon learns, there’s a catch.
“Breeder” stars Daniel Doheny, Dot Marie Jones, Maddie Phillips, and Tanaya Beatty. Goyette wrote the script in addition to directing the film. The deal is for distribution rights in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. The film will world premiere at the Tribeca Festival on June 6, and will have a theatrical release this fall.
