Alcon Entertainment Action star Iko Uwais is set to lead “Jakarta,” a multi-generational family crime series in development at Alcon Entertainment, with Albert Hughes attached to direct the pilot and serve as producing director.
The project comes from writers Kirk Ward and Joshua W. Wagner, with Ward also locked in as showrunner. Hughes and Ward previously worked together on “The Continental,” the “John Wick” prequel event series that aired on Peacock. “Jakarta” marks their second collaboration, this time pairing Ward’s drama-writing background with Hughes’ feature filmmaking credentials to create what the producers are positioning as a grounded, visceral crime epic.
