Mat Capper, who runs a bike sales and repair business, has moved out of his shop, so a TV production can move in.

The second series of Johnny Vegas' Little Shop of Antiques is being filmed at Dagfields Crafts and Antiques Centre near Nantwich, Cheshire.

The show, on Quest TV, sees Vegas open a pop-up shop called Vintage Vegas to sell collectibles and quirky items.

"It's great for all the businesses on site," said Capper, who had been in the unit for about nine months, and has relocated to a smaller shop nearby to allow for the filming.

Since the show first aired, visitors had constantly asked if it was where the comedian had been based, and if he was still around, said the 36-year-old.

Series one was filmed in the identical unit next door, which is occupied by a fireplace business, but for series two it was easier to move Capper's bike shop.

Just a few doors along is a business called Dusty Gems Interiors, run by Jon Egglestone.

He was involved in the show when it was filmed last year, giving Vegas a helping hand with his purchases.

"He was going from a collector to a dealer and it's a totally different thing buying as a collector than trying to buy as a dealer."

Egglestone, who has been in the antiques business for more than 25 years, said the comedian was a pleasure to be around, and the show had boosted visitor numbers.

As a result of his appearance on the programme, he said he now gets recognised when he is out looking for stock, and not just in the UK.

"When it's abroad, people go - saw you on the TV - I'm like I'm not going to be able to buy anything here then!"
