Tiger Woods isn’t fully back, but tonight, he’s close.
The 15-time PGA Tour major winner is set to play in the TGL Finals tonight, marking his first live, competitive appearance in over a year. It’s a different kind of stage — an indoor, tech-driven league he helped build — now in its second season. And with a championship on the line, this isn’t just a casual return.
“Each and every day I keep trying, I keep progressing… trying to get stronger… and try to get to a point where I can play at the highest level again,” Woods told Rolling Stone at the Genesis Invitational. That process has largely happened out of view, which is part of what makes this moment stand out.

Woods has spent most of the TGL season leading Jupiter Links Golf Club from the sidelines, watching the team build momentum behind Tom Kim, whose high-energy play delivered some of the league’s most memorable moments.
Now, Woods steps into the lineup as Jupiter Links faces Los Angeles Golf Club in the championship matchup. Los Angeles rallied to win on the last hole during Match 1 yesterday, so a win for Jupiter Links tonight would force a decisive third and final match, which will immediately follow on ESPN.
The format — fast-paced and simulator-based — offers a more controlled way for Woods to compete, but the stakes are still real. With the Masters approaching and his status still uncertain, this doubles as an early look at where his game stands.
