It’s been nearly 20 years since we last heard the iconic lyrics, “Yes, no, maybe, I don’t know,” introducing the Emmy-winning show Malcolm in the Middle. The theme song, “Boss of Me” by They Might Be Giants, went on to rack up millions of streams on Spotify, and like the music, the show itself became a massive hit.
Now, two decades later, Malcolm in the Middle is back with a four-part reboot titled Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair. The miniseries, produced by Hulu, brings back original cast members including Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, Jane Kaczmarek, Christopher Masterson, and Justin Berfield. It was created by Linwood Boomer, who also helmed the original series, which ran from 2000 to 2006.
According to the show’s official description, the story follows a grown-up Malcolm: “Malcolm and his daughter are drawn into the family’s chaos when Hal and Lois demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party.”
