Thomas Duke/Stepping Through Film Speaking at last year’s BFI London Film Festival, Yorgos Lanthimos lamented the promotional aspect of moviemaking. The director, in town with “Bugonia,” specifically singled out the number of interviews he’s made to do where he simply “says the same thing 1,000 times.”
There’s absolutely no doubt that many — many — others in the industry have expressed very similar sentiments. That said, they’ve perhaps done so a little more privately than on stage during a sold-out In Conversation With session.
