Emma D'Arcy in season three of 'House of the Dragon.' HBO Logo text The final trailer for House of the Dragon‘s forthcoming third season opens with a scene of battlefield carnage. Judging by the rest of the trailer, it will be a recurring theme.
At least half a dozen more moments in the clip show both large-scale and close-up brutality, intercut with scenes of scheming in and around King’s Landing as Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) looks to keep her grip on the Iron Throne.
The trailer is substantially different than the one HBO released in April, focusing more on those aiming to strip Rhaenyra of her power along with a host of big battle scenes, both on land and at sea. Watch it below.

“This is a huge season. It’s the biggest we’ve made by any margin and by a wide measure,” showrunner Ryan Condal said in a video message at the CCXP Mexico City convention in April, when the previous trailer was unveiled. “It is dark. It’s funny. It’s action-packed. It’s emotional. And, of course, it has lots and lots of dragons. This season demanded the very best of everybody that collaborated to make it together, and I can’t wait for the world to experience it.”
Condal and Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin are the creators of House of the Dragon, which is based on Martin’s Fire & Blood. They executive produce season three with Sara Hess, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Vince Gerardis, David Hancock and Philippa Goslett.
House of the Dragon premieres June 21 on HBO and HBO Max.
