The cast of 'Heroes' Mitchell Haaseth/NBCUniversal via Getty Images The cast of Heroes joined forces to “celebrate the life” of Hayden Panettiere, who died suddenly earlier this month at 36 years old.
Actor Jimmy Jean-Louis, who played the character known as “the Haitian,” shared photos of the gathering online. “A Heroes reunion to celebrate the life of Hayden was deeply emotional,” he wrote. “There was sadness in our hearts, but also so much love, gratitude, and warmth as we remembered the beautiful moments shared and the lasting impact of a life that touched so many. Au revoir Hayden.”
The reunion included Masi Oka, Greg Grunberg, Sendhil Ramamurthy, and Jack Coleman, who played the father of Pattettiere’s character Claire Bennett.

Bryan Fuller, a writer and producer on the series, also shared the photos. “A HEROES REUNION TO CELEBRATE THE LIFE OF THE YOUNG WOMAN WHO WAS #1 ON THE CALL SHEET AND #1 IN OUR HEARTS AND MEMORIES,” he wrote. “WE SHARED STORIES OF HAYDEN’S LIGHT THAT SHINED ON ALL OF OUR LIVES.”

Heroes ran for four season on NBC from 2006 to 2010. Panettiere’s Claire, a high-school cheerleader who could spontaneously regenerate, was an immediate fan favorite. The show’s creator Tim Kring wrote in an essay for Variety that Panettiere was “a true team player, which was important for a show with a large ensemble cast.”
“She had a deep understanding of human nature that belied her age,” he wrote. “As a result, she could find moments within a scene that always made it deeper, or funnier, or more powerful than it was on the page. As a writer, you yearn for a relationship with an actor who elevates everything that you write and finds hidden nuances that you didn’t realize were there. That happened very, very often with her.”
Coleman also shared an emotional tribute to his co-star. “I’m heartbroken. I couldn’t begin to put my thoughts into words until now, and they will be inadequate,” Coleman wrote. “I’ve loved Hayden since day one of the pilot of Heroes, 20 years ago, when she introduced herself by shouting ‘daddy’ and throwing her arms around me. From that day on, she called me daddio. She was Haydini, because she was a magician.”
