Left wing pundit Hasan Piker has unloaded on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce for having taxpayers pick up the costs of security for their star-studded wedding in New York City this weekend.

“Controversial opinion: I think this is a dramatic misuse of public resources,” Piker said on his popular show across his social media platforms. “Sorry, I fucking… I’m saying it. I think it’s insane. I think it’s a bad look,” he added.

Media reports point to the multi-day wedding event costing around $15 million, which includes security costs borne by taxpayers. “It’s heightening the contradictions. It’s showcasing one again that, no matter how beloved a public figure you might be, you’re still, if you’re a billionaire, you’re still a billionaire and you are going to do billionaire shit,” Piker argued.

The superstar singer-songwriter and her NFL tight end beau celebrated their marriage with around 1,000 celebrity guests at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, which required street closures and crowd control by the New York City police and others on Friday.

“It’s straightforwardly a flex to be like, yeah, I can do this, and I kind of think it’s a little bit tacky, at best,” Piker said. The couple held what was reportedly a 100-person rehearsal dinner Thursday night at the Infosys Theater within the Garden.

The wedding itself took place at 5 p.m. ET on Friday, with the reception set to run until as late as 4 a.m. ET on Saturday morning, according to a copy of a city permit obtained by the AP and details provided by the police.
