Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) went after President Trump over his post about the American military death toll in the Iran war, calling it “stupid.”

“Afghanistan War: 20 years, 2,000 DEAD. Iraq War: 9 years, 4,600 DEAD. Vietnam War: 19 years and 5 months, 58,220 DEAD. Korean War: 3 years and 1 month, 36,574 DEAD. Venezuela War: 1 day, 0 DEAD. Iran Military Conflict: 4 months, 18 DEAD,” Trump said in a Tuesday afternoon post to Truth Social.

Greene reacted negatively to Trump’s post in her own post on the social platform X later Tuesday.

“Trump is bragging about killing 18 US soldiers. That[‘]s how I read this stupid posts. The ‘peace president’ went to war and is killing and wounding our troops,” Greene said, capping off her post with an acronym for “go f— yourself.”

Greene, formerly one of Trump’s strongest supporters, recently turned against the president. She has also been critical of the war in Iran, which is nearing the five-month mark.

Over the weekend, Greene railed against Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s post commemorating U.S. service members killed in Jordan by Iranian strikes.

“Godspeed, heroes. Their sacrifice only stiffens our resolve,” Hegseth wrote on X.

In response, Greene said it was unsuitable to call the deaths a “sacrafice.”

“Sacrifice?? What the f— are you talking about?? They did not willingly sacrifice themselves. They were killed because of the war you, Trump, and the admin, are waging on behalf of a FOREIGN COUNTRY, Israel,” Greene said in a post on X.

The war against Iran, which has raised oil and gas prices, stressed the global economy and strained the U.S.’s international relations, has proven unpopular with the American public in recent polling.

According to AAA, the average price of a gallon of gas in the U.S. is about $4.06, up from about $3.15 last year.

The Hill has reached out to the White House for comment on Greene’s Tuesday post.
