Shapiro, a Tony winner whose credits include “Eureka Day” and “August: Osage County,” will direct the show, which premieres in February 2027 at a Shubert Theatre to be announced.
Greenberg, whose work includes the Tony winning “Take Me Out” and “The Assembled Parties,” died in 2025. “Three Days of Rain” was previously mounted on Broadway in 2006 with Paul Rudd, Bradley Cooper and, in her stage debut, Julia Roberts. The show unfolds as a mystery about inheritance.
