Blumhouse Atomic Monster has tapped Gary Dauberman to write the script for the next installment of “Five Nights at Freddy’s.” Dauberman has penned some of the most successful horror franchises of the past decade including “It,” “Annabelle” and “The Nun.”
The two previous “Five Nights at Freddy’s” films were major box office hits, with the 2023 original grossing $297.2 million globally on a $20 million budget and its 2025 sequel netting $239.6 million on a $36 million budget. Set in a haunted family friendly, themed restaurant, the movies starred Josh Hutcherson. It was based on a popular horror video game series by Scott Cawthon, who co-wrote the script for the first film with Emma Tammi and Seth Cuddeback and wrote the second film by himself.
