Courtesy of Fantaspoa Fantaspoa, the Porto Alegre, Brazil-based genre film festival, brought together a record 550,000-plus attendees through in-person and online programming.
The 22nd edition of the festival, which took place over 19 days and wrapped with an April 26 award ceremony, brought in more than 80 domestic and international guests and hosted 24 world premieres.
Additionally, this year was the debut of the Méliès Silver Award for Best European Feature Film, which was awarded to Paul Urkijo Alijo’s Basque dark fantasy “Gaua.”
