FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez applauded Disney for fighting against what she characterized as the Trump administration’s efforts to “punish and intimidate” the company and ABC through “the weaponization of the FCC’s authority as a federal regulatory,” she wrote in a letter to Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro.

Gomez, the only Democrat among the FCC’s three current commissioners, sent a letter dated May 11 to D’Amaro, who took over as Disney’s CEO in March. She cited actions by the FCC, run by Trump loyalist Brendan Carr, targeting ABC over viewpoints expressed by late-night host Jimmy Kimmel and hosts of “The View.”
