American actor David Boreanaz is set to take part in a keynote conversation as part of the Italian Global Series in Riccione, Italy on July 9, organizers said Friday.

Boreanaz played the tormented vampire Angel on the popular Buffy the Vampire Slayer series, a role that inspired the spinoff Angel series that centered on his Buffy the Vampire Slayer character moving to Los Angeles and opening a detective business.

That private investigator role set Boreanaz up well to next star in the pilot for NBC’s The Rockford Files remake as private eye James Rockford. That role was first made famous by James Garner in the original series that ran from 1974 to 1980.

Boreanaz will also be a producer on the reboot pilot. In Italy, he will look back on a Hollywood career that includes playing FBI special agent Seeley Booth in the crime series Bones for 12 seasons and Navy SEAL master chief Jason Hayes in the military drama SEAL Team that ran for seven seasons on CBS and Paramount+. He also executive produced the SEAL Team drama.

Italian Global Series organizers said of the appearance by the American actor as part of the event’s Conversation series: “This event offers an unmissable opportunity for fans and industry enthusiasts to meet a pillar of American television series in person, a figure who has helped shape the history of global television over the past three decades.”

The second edition of the Italian Global Series — which is directed by Marco Spagnoli and was conceived and organized by the Audiovisual Producers Association in collaboration with Cinecittà — will run from July 3 to 11 in Rimini and Riccione, Italy.
