Dana Scruggs Damson Idris has been cast in the lead role in “The Lord’s Day,” Netflix‘s upcoming thriller series based on Michael Dobbs’ 2007 novel of the same name. Idris will also serve as executive producer.
The official description for the series reads, “On the State Opening of Parliament, British spy Harry Jones (Idris) finds himself inside the iconic building amidst a lockdown. As the siege escalates, loyalties are tested and selfless sacrifices are made, leading to a desperate fight for survival where not everyone will emerge alive. Can Harry use his skills and training to be the country’s saviour?”
“The Lord’s Day” is being produced by Bad Wolf. Besides Idris, executive producers include Jane Tranter and Dan McCulloch for Bad Wolf as well as lead writers Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley and director Ben Chanan. The six-episode series is set to enter production soon in the U.K.
