Larry McCormack/Disney/Getty Images Last week, Ella Langley‘s “Choosin’ Texas” hit its 19th week atop the Billboard Hot 100, tying the records of songs by Shaboozey and Lil Nas X. Now, after entering its 20th week at Number One, the track has cruised past her fellow countrymen and is the second longest-running Number One single in Billboard Hot 100 history.
“Choosin’ Texas” was first released in October 2025 and landed Langley her first Number One song in February. The track, while already fairly widespread, blew up over the summer and has sat at Number One since July 4, for nine consecutive weeks. It is also the longest reign atop the Billboard Hot 100 by a female country artist.
The current record for most weeks spent atop the Hot 100 is held by Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” That song has spent 22 weeks at Number One, and gets a steady boost every holiday season.
