Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) is pushing back on suggestions pundit Tucker Carlson could mount a third-party bid for the White House after President Trump leaves office.
“Tucker, he’s not running for president,” Greene told Politico Playbook over the weekend. “He said that publicly. He said that privately.”
Greene also told the outlet she does not intend to run for president.
“Our argument is the two-party system is a complete and total failure … I am 100 percent totally completely disgusted with both parties.”
The Republican had been asked about a viral photo of herself, Carlson and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) that sparked online speculation about the creation of a new political movement by conservatives who have broken with Trump.
Carlson, a former Fox News host and media personality, drew headlines about a potential run for the presidency last week when he outlined what he called a vision for “what America should be” in a video posted to his social media channels.
Like Greene and Massie, Carlson had been supportive of Trump but has broken with him publicly over the war in Iran and his administration’s handling of the Epstein files.
Carlson has pushed back for years on suggestions he could run for president but has grown increasingly critical of leaders in both parties, which he argued in his recent video have “colluded against the population to make their lives better and our lives worse.”
