CAA Expands Annual Emerging Filmmakers Showcase with Launch of Workshops and Networking Conversations

Creative Artists Agency’s 11th annual CAA Moebius showcase, a two-day screening series of undergraduate and graduate student filmmakers, will take place May 27 to May 28. Accompanying this year’s showcase is the launch of Moebius Labs, a series of workshops and moderated conversations designed to provide participating filmmakers access to creatives, producers, and executives working across film and television. This year’s participants include screenwriter Julia Cox in conversation with Liz Suggs; producer Jessie Henderson; filmmaker David F. Sandberg; and CAA motion picture literary agents. The showcase will also feature appearances from filmmaker Max Barbakow and a soon-to-be-announced Academy Award-winning writer/director, who will each host an evening of the showcase and deliver opening remarks. Barbakow will return to host night one. This year’s showcase will feature films from both undergraduate and graduate film programs across the country and includes 10 short live-action films selected from a wide range of genres, tones, and perspectives.
