Great Britain men's team won bronze at the Wheelchair Basketball World Championships by defeating Germany 67-56 in the third-place play-off.

After conceding an early lead in Ottawa, GB scored twice in less than a minute and stayed in front from then on, with Gregg Warburton leading his side's scoring with 20 points.

The outcome means Britain's men have won a medal at three consecutive World Championships after taking gold and silver at the 2018 and 2022 editions.

GB women missed out on a medal as they lost 63-50 to the Netherlands in their third-place match.

Britain, captained by Sophie Carrigill, trailed after two periods but levelled the scoring at 44-44 heading into the final quarter of the match.

The Netherlands, champions in 2018 and 2022, then stepped it up and dominated the closing quarter 19-6 to secure another medal.

Fourth place is still a big improvement for GB women, who finished ninth at the 2022 edition of the tournament.
