Melinda Sue Gordon Christopher Nolan‘s star-studded adaptation of “The Odyssey” has surpassed $600 million globally after just two weekends of release.
The big-budget take on Homer’s 3,000-year-old epic, led by Matt Damon as the Greek king Odysseus, has generated $639.6 million worldwide, including $353.2 million at the international box office and $284.4 million domestically. It’s a staggering turnout for a sword-and-sandal adventure that’s nearly three hours long and rated R, underscoring the fact that Nolan is the most bankable director of his generation.
