At least seven security personnel were among the dead and 20 others were wounded in the attack on Saturday in Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, police told Al Jazeera.
Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (the Pakistan Taliban or TTP), claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement.
