Christopher Polk/Billboard The BET Awards 2026 returned on Sunday night (June 28), marking the network’s latest celebration of Black excellence across music, entertainment, sports, and culture.
Cardi B led all nominees with nods in six categories, including Album of the Year for Am I the Drama?, Best Female Hip Hop Artist, Best Collaboration for “Errtime Remix” featuring Jeezy and Latto, Video Director of the Year alongside Patience Foster, and the Viewer’s Choice Award.
Before this year’s ceremony, the Bronx native had won six BET Awards, including back-to-back Best Female Hip Hop Artist wins in 2018 and 2019, Album of the Year for her multiplatinum debut Invasion of Privacy, and Video of the Year and Best Collaboration for “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion in 2021.
Closely behind Cardi B in nominations are Kendrick Lamar and Doja Cat, who each received five, while Doechii, Doja Cat, Clipse, Teyana Taylor, Olivia Dean, and Latto each received four nods apiece. A$AP Rocky, Bruno Mars, Bryson Tiller, Chris Brown, Jill Scott, Kehlani, Metro Boomin, SZA, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, T.I., and YK Niece all earned three nominations apiece, reflecting the broad range of talent represented this year.
The 2026 BET Awards were held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Hosted by Druski, the BET Awards 2026 marked the 26th edition of the annual awards show, which were established in 2001.
