Bella Kay Samantha Monendo* Earlier this year, Bella Kay told Rolling Stone, “If I have a choice between a good decision and a bad decision, but the bad decision is fun, I’m probably gonna choose the bad decision.” The singer-songwriter’s statement doubles as the thesis for her upcoming debut album, My Reckless Abandon, out July 12 via Atlantic Records.
The 20-year-old’s first full-length LP follows the release of her breakthrough single, “iloveitiloveitiloveit,” which arrived in January. The track is one of 13 that will appear on the album, which was executive produced by Idarose. “It’s talking a little bit about my past, what it was like growing up, and talking a little bit about struggling with mental health and struggling with body issues,” Kay previously shared about My Reckless Abandon. “In the vein of relationship things, it also explores so many thought processes of this thing that’s happening. It’s a ‘will they, won’t they’ type of vibe, which I think is exciting.”
