Megan Barker reclaimed her British elite women's circuit race title as the second day of the National Road Championships produced its second Welsh winner.

Barker triumphed in a sprint finish on the course in Aberystwyth to follow up on her success in the same event in 2023.

The Cardiff-born 28-year-old edged out Carys Lloyd - the teenager who will join Barker as part of Wales' selection for this summer's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow - by less than three hundredths of a second.

Scotland's Eilidh Shaw took third.

The home one-two came a day after Zoe Backstedt topped an all-Welsh podium in the women's time trail in Lampeter ahead of Anna Morris and sister Elynor Backstedt.

Matthew Bostock took the open race title on the five-lap 1.6km circuit, ahead of Jacob Bush and Thomas Portsmouth.

The championships continue on Sunday with the road race championships - also being held in Aberystwyth.
