Art Streiber/HBO Being President of the United States could not prepare Barack Obama for Larry David.
In a new teaser for the HBO sketch series “Life, Larry, and the Pursuit of Unhappiness,” Obama states “I have sat across the table from some of the world’s most difficult leaders and wrestled with some of the globes most intractable problems. Nothing has prepared me for working with Larry David.”
As Variety reported in July 2025, David and Obama have partnered on the comedy series in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. The logline states, “President and Mrs. Obama wanted to honor America’s 250th anniversary and celebrate the unique history of our nation on this special occasion…But then Larry David called.”
